Matt Lockwood is a child of the 70’s, born in Woolwich, London. He started playing guitar in the summer of 1990, and joined his church’s worship team later that autumn, playing for morning services, house groups and youth meetings. He has since served as worship leader and worship pastor in small and large churches, as well as speaking and leading at the occasional conference, and coaching other worship team leaders.
He met his wife Ali in 1992, and they were married in 1995. They have three children – Zach (married to Celeste), Caleb and Matilda, and live in a small seaside town on the South Coast of England. Matt juggles being a house husband (Ali is a primary school Headteacher), graphic designer, publisher and worship leader.
He loves reading, cooking, Star Wars, The Office (US), Owl City, Michael W Smith, and his family. His worst mistake was blending the words ‘crowned’ and ‘wrapped’ whilst leading worship. #awkward.
